At the Finnish Spitz Club's Ch Show judged by Mrs Jo Mansfield (Yoivo):

Valokki Tulikki (Tuuli) won the Bitch CC (her first)
Ch Valokki Soren was Reserve BIS and won the Dog RCC
Valokki Kuura won the Reserve Bitch CC.

2 Valokki litter sisters (born 4th May 2015) had recent successes in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog awards:

Valokki Kielo (Pepper) owned by Kieron & Stacey Wells won her Silver Award in early July and Gold Award in December 2016 following her earlier successes at Puppy Foundation and Bronze levels.

Valokki Kuura owned by Cecily Byard passed her Silver award on 30th July at the "Spitz in the Park" event following her success at Bronze in December 2015.

At the Finnish Spitz Society's Championship Show on 12th June 2016 judged by Mr Cyril Gilbert:

Valokki Vihtori Veli (Mika) owned by Allan & Georgina Honisett and handled by Georgina was BIS and won his first CC.  He was also Best Dog, Best Limit, Best Special Beginner, and won the John Blaber Memorial Class.

Ch Valokki Soren was Best Open Dog and together with his sister Valokki Tulikki (Tuuli)won the Brace class.

Valokki Kuura owned and handled by Cecily Byard won the Junior Bitch and Special Beginners Bitch classes.

Valokki Kastehelmi (Tilda) handled by Ellen Hack won the Novice Bitch class and was 2nd in Special Beginners Bitch class.

2015 was a very good year for Valokki dogs.

Soren had his best ever year in shows.  He won 3 CCs during the year (WELKS, Finnish Spitz Club Championship, and Richmond) to add to the 2 he already had.   He also won 3 more RCCs (Birmingham National, Houndshow, and LKA).  In addition he was BIS at the Finnish Spitz Society's Open Show.

Tuuli (Soren's sister) won her first 2 RCCs (Houndshow and Richmond).  Soren and Tuuli together were Best Brace at both FSS Open and FSC Championship.  Tuuli also passed her Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award at LKA.

Kuura (owned by Thomas and Cecily) took part in her very first show at LKA at the age of 7 months and won the Reserve Bitch CC there.  She was beautifully handled by Cecily and went round the ring with confidence.  About an hour after that she passed her Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award (having passed the Puppy Foundation Award a few weeks earlier).

All Venla's puppies have now left us for their new homes.

Venla gave birth to 4 puppies (all girls) on the afternoon and early evening of Monday 4th May 2015, a few days earlier than expected.  Mother and pupppies are doing well.

We are delighted that Soren was BoB and won his 3rd CC at the WELKS show on 25th April 2015 judged by Mrs Wendy Sharman.  Subject to Kennel Club confirmation, he is now a Champion.   His litter sister Tuuli won the Post Graduate bitch class.

Soren was 1st Open Dog, Best Dog, and BoB at City of Birmingham Show on 29th August 2014.  Under Breed Specialist judge Steve Piearce he won his second CC.

We were sad to hear that Pepi (Tihun Pepi of Valokki) died on 17th June at the age of almost 15 and a half.  This came just 2 months after the only other Tihun-bred dog in the UK, our Parri (Tihun Parri to Toveri).   It was also 1 month after Pepi's granddaughter Tuuli gave birth to 3 puppies.  Pepi spent his first 5 years in Finland and his last 9 in Wales with Steve & Alison Piearce.  He had shorter spells in England and Scotland in between.  He was a great character and leaves behind offspring and descendants in Finland, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and France.
